La Santé wines are manufactured and bottled by Chiang Rai Winery, located in the Chiang Rai province of
Northern Thailand, an area rich and fertile with a cooler climate more favorable for growing fruits.
Chiang Rai Winery was founded by a group of scholastic professors and physicians whose
aim was to develop quality wines for the benefit of La Santé – the French word for good health.
La Sante’s Green Tea Wine is made from carefully hand selected young green tea leaves grown in the cold highlands of Thailand’s beautiful and scenic Chiang Rai province. Our green tea leaves are fermented with honey from longan flowers to provide complex aromatic hints of tropical honey. It is semi dry with traces of sweetness, yet it leaves a bitter citrus aftertaste in the mouth. La Sante’s Green Tea Wine is light-medium body.
Green Tea leaves are beneficial for one’s health. Green Tea leaves contain flavonoids and antioxidant properties that help to prevent cell damage that can lead to a variety of cancers. Other benefits include: it restrict the increase of blood cholesterol, controls high blood pressure, suppresses aging, refreshes the body, prevents cavities, fights viruses, and acts as a functional food.
La Sante’s Lychee Wine is made from the white meat of high-grade Lychee grown in the cold highlands of Thailand’s beautiful and scenic Chiang Rai province. It is wonderfully aromatic with brilliant scents of plump lychee flesh. Our Lychee Wine is semi dry and easy to drink with a touch of sweetness on the medium finish.
Lychees are grown on Lychee trees with dense, evergreen leaves. The fruit is about 1 to 1 1/2 inches in size, oval to round in shape, and has a bumpy red skin. This fruit is only grown in sub-tropical climates, and originates in South China. Once you peel off the skin, the crisp juicy flesh of a lychee fruit is white or pinkish, translucent and glossy like the consistency of a grape. Its taste is sweet and wonderfully fresh. Lychees are high in antioxidants, Vitamin C, and mineral Potassium.
